Mount Kailash is located in Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It lies in the Kailash Range of the Trans-Himalaya in the western part of the Tibetan Plateau. The peak stands at 6,638 m (21,778 ft) near the border junction of China, India, and Nepal.

The region is close to the sacred lakes Manasarovar and Rakshastal. It is the source of four major rivers: Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali. Mount Kailash is revered in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon traditions, attracting pilgrims from Nepal, India, China, and beyond.

The pilgrimage includes a visit to Lake Manasarovar and a sacred circumambulation (Kailash Parikarma). Climbing the mountain is strictly prohibited by the Chinese government due to its deep religious significance.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. Evening program briefing during dinner. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 2: Morning: Tibet visa form signature (biometric if required at China Visa Center). After visa processing: Sightseeing tour to Pashupatinath, Jal Narayan, and Guheshwari Temple. Evening: Pashupatinath Aarti Darshan.

Day 3: Leisure day for visa processing. Optional tours: Chandragiri Hill or Doleshwar Mahadev (own cost). Lunch followed by 4 PM flight to Nepalgunj. Overnight at hotel. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 4: Early morning flight to Simikot (45 min). Rest for acclimatization. Afternoon: Short walk around hillside. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 5: Helicopter flight to Hilsa (20 min). Cross border into Tibet and meet Tibetan & Nepali crew. Drive to Taklakot (3900m) – 30 km. Overnight at Hotel Himalayan. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 6: Drive 78 km to Holy Lake Manasarovar (4500m). Full day for spiritual activities: Pooja, Havana, meditation, holy bath, etc. Overnight at lodge near lake. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 7: Drive to Darchen (30 km, 4560m) – basecamp of Mt. Kailash. Acclimatization & preparation for Parikarma. Overnight: Hotel Himalayan.

Day 8: Start Parikarma. Drive 10 km to Tarboche (Yam Dwar). Trek 4–5 hours to Diraphuk (4890m). Overnight: Guest House. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 9: Trek 22 km to Zuthulphuk (4790m). The toughest day: Cross Dolma La Pass (5600m), short prayers, then trek to Gaurikunda. Overnight: Guest House. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 10: After breakfast trek 8 km to meeting point. Drive to Darchen — Parikarma ends. Lunch then drive to Taklakot via Manasarovar Parikarma. Overnight: Guest House. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 11: Early morning drive to Nepal border. Helicopter to Simikot → connecting flight to Nepalgunj → same-day flight to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel (B/L/D).

Day 12: Departure transfer. Meal Plan (B).

Additional Muktinath Tour Along with Kailash Yatra

Day 12: Instead of departure, begin Muktinath Yatra. Drive to Pokhara via Manakamana Temple. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 13: Early flight to Jomsom → Jeep to Muktinath Temple for Pooja & bath. Afternoon return to Jomsom. Overnight stay. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 14: Morning flight back to Pokhara. Half-day sightseeing → Flight back to Kathmandu. Meal Plan (B/L/D).

Day 15: Departure transfer. Trip concludes. (B)
